Photography in the Museum

Still photography is allowed at the Henry only when images are being made for personal, non-commercial use.

In certain instances, the Henry will post “No Photography” notices. These
notices will be posted in galleries exhibiting works on loan to the museum. Loaned
works are often subject to contractual restrictions that prohibit photography; the Henry must honor contracts with lenders. Visitors will be asked to observe these
restrictions.

Where permitted, the use of cameras in the exhibition spaces is subject to the following conditions:

• Flash photography is not allowed
• Tripods may not be used
• Video cameras may not be used without prior permission

Exceptions for special photography requiring use of lighting, tripods, or video cameras
may be allowed if a request is made in advance and the requestor’s Permission
Agreement for Photography form is approved by authorized Henry staff.
