James Turrell: Works 1967-1992
North Galleries
October 9, 1992 – January 3, 1993
James Turrell experiments in creating works of art from the most ephemeral medium-light. The Henry worked with Turrell to bring together a celebration of more than 25 years of artistic investigation. The exhibition included two major new works: a room ‘sized color aperture’, and a ‘perceptual cell.’ Also on view were a full room ‘wedgework’ from 1969, and a projection piece from 1967. The exhibit also included two recent print series, and the artist’s large-scale photographs and drawings of the Roden Crater Project.
