April 13, 1997 – September 28, 1999

The new Illsley Ball Nordstrom Sculpture Court will be inaugurated with a select group of important sculptures from the collection of Jon and Mary Shirley. The Shirley’s collection features significant works by American painters, printmakers, and glass artists in addition to sculptors. The three sculptures on view interpret figurative representation: "Akanahe’ by Deborah Butterfield, “Clamdigger” by Willem DeKooning, and Untitled by Joel Shapiro.
