This exhibition featured videos by Toronto artist Kelly Mark. With deadpan wit, Mark choreographed a “ballet of the ordinary” in her performances and media work. Mark intervened in the social geography in unexpected ways with mundane yet absurd actions: sprinting at a crosswalk, staring in an elevator, staging a protest of nothing. Scattered on monitors (and one projection) throughout the museum’s public spaces, the videos effectively disrupted the normal goings-on with a knowing humor.
