Where there are people, there are signs. Announcing, selling, directing, locating – signs are ubiquitous in our populated landscapes. Signs offer rich communication of a culture’s needs and desires and have attracted the keen eyes of many photographers over the last century. This exhibition drawn from the Henry’s Monsen Collection of Photography highlighted works by John Gutmann, Walker Evans, Aaron Siskind, Weegee, and many others.
