Inspiring Vision: Looking at Photography
South and Media Galleries
July 31, 1997 – October 19, 1997
Photography’s capacity to record, interpret, and persuade has profoundly changed and added to our visual world, thus making it an excellent medium in which to explore visual thinking; a system of analyzing the components of a work of art to gain understanding of the artist’s intent. The photographs in this exhibition were skillfully composed, caught in a decisive moment, or layered with interpretive possibility. This exhibition explored both wonder and beauty, and gave insight into the ways the mind develops aesthetically.
