Contemporaries Preview: Eyes of the Skin

Friday, January 27, 2012, 7:00 - 8:30 PM
Café

Join the Henry Contemporaries for an exclusive preview of Eyes of the Skin.

In Eyes of the Skin, media artist Maja Petrić, choreographer Jennifer Salk, and 15 dancers create a 40-minute dance/mixed media installation that delves into the complex nature of tenderness.

Using light and projection technology, Petrić’s installations will appear in distinct locations in the Henry where the dancers interact. In the Stroum gallery, a large wall provides the backdrop to the main dance; it slowly “cracks” and discloses an illusion of a realm behind the wall.

Choreographer Jennifer Salk will join the Contemporaries to provide an exclusive preview and discussion prior to the performance.

Conversation begins at 7:00 p.m.
Performance at 7:30 p.m.

This event is open to current members of the Contemporaries, Collector’s Circle, Director’s Circle, Chairman’s Circle, and Artist’s Circle. RSVP required by January 25 to rsvp@henryart.org.
