Over the past decade, Art21 has established itself as the preeminent chronicler of contemporary art and artists through its Peabody Award-winning biennial television series, Art in the Twenty-First Century. To accompany the premiere of their 6th season, Art21 is proud to present Access ’12, a month long celebration of contemporary art and ideas. Access ’12 consists of hundreds of free preview screenings of Art in the Twenty-First Century, introducing 14 of today’s leading artists.
The artists profiled in Art in the Twenty-First Century, Season Six, are: Marina Abramović, Ai Weiwei, David Altmejd, assume vivid astro focus, Lynda Benglis, Rackstraw Downes, El Anatsui, Mary Reid Kelley, Glenn Ligon, Robert Mangold, Catherine Opie, Sarah Sze, and Tabaimo.
