Be the first to view the new Henry exhibition Vortexhibition Polyphonica. VP presents an unusual and dynamic approach to exhibiting objects from the Henry’s permanent collection. Instead of a fixed presentation of art works relating to history, style, or subject matter, this exhibition experiments with a fluid structure that will change over time. In keeping with the active spirit of the Vortexhibition Polyphonica concept, Henry Associate Curator Sara Krajewski has initially chosen three objects that evoke action words or phrases. Transform, Suspend, and Mixing Messages then became organizing concepts. In Art 21’s 5th season, the episode Transformation, further illuminates the Transform concept addressed in the exhibition – plus both episode and exhibition feature artist Cindy Sherman.
This event is part of Art21 Access ‘09 a celebration of contemporary art and Season 5 of Art 21: 21-Art in the Twenty-First Century sponsored by Art21. Art21 Access ‘09 is held at over 300 museums, schools, libraries, art spaces, and community centers and is organized in collaboration with Americans for the Arts and Humanities Month.
