Visiting
the Eleanor Henry Reed Collection Study Center
The Collection Study Center is an important resource
serving the University, regional colleges and the community. It is
available for group study of objects not currently on view. Faculty
are encouraged to supplement their lectures by studying original objects
at the Study Center. Visits must be scheduled three weeks in advance.
Group size is limited to thirty and is restricted to age eighteen and
above. College groups visiting the Center are not charged admission.
Non-students pay the appropriate group museum admission fees. A limited
number of individual appointments can be scheduled. To schedule a visit,
please call 206.543.1739.
Independent
Class Projects and Internships
High school and college faculty are encouraged
to use the Henry for class projects. These may include object study,
creative writing, sketching (pencil only), architectural analysis or
other curriculum-based assignments. The museum also offers a limited
number of student internships, employment opportunities and practicums
for in-depth study. The curatorial and education staffs are available
for consultation on projects or curriculum connections.
Self-Guided
Tour of the Campus
How Art Creates Places is an innovative walking
tour and curriculum guide exploring art on the University of Washington
campus. The tour includes four types of public art--from sculpture
to installation--and provides an ideal introduction to the campus.
Tour groups are encouraged to take this 45-minute tour as part of their
visit to the Henry and the university. It is adaptable for all ages.
Please ask for this guide when scheduling a tour. |
